Planning your learning

It is really important to plan your learning, for many reasons

• to organise your learning – so that you’re not going off on a tangent and wasting your time learning time

• so that you know where you started and so you can see how far you’ve come, how much you’ve learned

Here is an example of how you can plan your learning

Topic: Talking about plans for the weekend

Je vais partir en weekend avec mes amis / mes amies (remember to add ‘e’ for all female friends)

On va visiter les monuments historiques (‘on’ can be used instead of ‘nous’ in less formal situations)

Remember – ‘visiter’ somewhere or something but ‘rendre visite à’ someone.

Je vais rendre visite à ma sœur.

On va manger dans un bon restaurant.

On va faire un peu de shopping.

Je ne vais pas dépenser beaucoup d’argent.

 Then you can ask yourself: 

What will I do before next week to learn these phrases?

• Write down 5 phrases about what I am going to do at the weekend. Read these phrases out loud at least twice in the week and also record myself saying them. Write a reminder about the use of ‘aller’ + infinitive in the grammar section.
