Over 20 original French audio recordings with written exercises, answers, transcripts and translations, covering every level from beginner to advanced
You go to France, or a French speaking country, all ready to use your intermediate French. You launch into a beautifully prepared speech about the food, the wine, the culture.
And then the French speaker replies with a stream of gorgeously crafted, perfectly pronounced French.
And you do not understand a single word of it. Or you understand part of it, but you are worried you have missed something vital.
So you apologise, you stop trying to speak, and you never utter another word for the rest of the holiday beyond merci and s'il vous plait. Then you come home deflated, wishing you had taken the chance to speak more while you were there.
There is nothing worse than losing your confidence because you are not sure what is going on. I understand exactly what it takes to develop your listening so that you feel at ease in French conversations.
So how do you fix it?
It might sound obvious, but to get better at listening, you need to listen more.
But not just listen. You need to delve deeper. You need to work on the language itself and understand how it is pronounced and put together.
So that you can feel more comfortable and more at ease when you listen.
I love podcasts, but sometimes they are too long, and they do not really engage with the language or help me to learn. They are interesting, and they improve your passive listening, but do they actually teach you anything? I am not convinced they do.
So I teamed up with some fabulous native French speakers to create audio exercises that really do help you learn. My recordings are fresh, new and totally original, and I have used my years of teaching experience to build written exercises that work alongside them.
That way you are not just listening. You are working on your other language skills at the same time:
All of it builds your range of vocabulary and gives you the confidence you need when you are in a real situation and have to make yourself understood.
